Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Technician to join our development manufacturing team. You will lead hands-on assembly, test, and integration of valves and high-pressure hardware, collaborating with engineering on manufacturability and build sequences.

You will mentor junior technicians, contribute to work instructions, and ensure clean, safe, and efficient floor operations while delivering repeatable, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6+ years hands-on manufacturing/assembly experience.
• Hands-on valve assembly, rebuild, installation, or maintenance experience.
• Strong understanding of valve function, trim, and leakage causes.
• Experience writing or revising work instructions, travelers, or procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, and rebuild various valve types per work instructions.
• Perform seat/seal work, verify leaks, and set stem packing to spec.
• Set up actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, electromechanical) and verify motion.
• Lead testing including proof pressure, seat leakage, and leak checks.
• Prepare and torque high‑pressure connections with calibrated tooling.
• Provide on‑floor mentorship to junior technicians and document processes.
• Develop and improve shop floor instructions and build sequences.
