Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a valve production technician to assemble, test, and repair hydraulic and cryogenic valve systems for spaceflight applications. You will work with a team of specialists in a fast-paced environment, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule compliance.

Responsibilities include supporting engineers, updating work instructions, and maintaining inventory for valve systems, with a shift Fri-Sun (5am-5:30pm) and relocation provided where applicable.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience in aerospace, aircraft, R&D or related field.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and use lifting equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • Flexible schedule: M-TH or Fri-Sun shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and drive to resolve technical issues.

  • Rapidly adapt to changing roles while working in a high-paced environment.
  • Show innovation and accountability in process and operations improvements.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It covers Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across Blue Origin facilities.

Role and Responsibilities

As part of a team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will perform general duties involved in the manufacturing, assembling, and testing of valves and controls components for various spaceflight systems. You will contribute to all aspects of component and subassembly manufacturing. The production valve manufacturing team is a critical part of the company\'s Integrated Supply Chain. A technician in this role will perform daily tasks including:

  • Integrate, test, functionally verify, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatically actuated cryogenic valves, systems and components.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years\' experience in aerospace, aircraft, R&D or related industrial or defense fields.

  • Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems, and drive to resolve technical issues.

  • Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment and machinery for heavier hardware.

  • Must possess a strong work ethic, prove ability to follow direction, and meet expectations.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.

  • Physically able to climb ladders and stairs.

  • Ability to support one of the following production work schedules: M-TH (5am - 3:30pm)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with software systems, databases and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Maintain inventory of parts and equipment for assembly, test, and maintenance of valve related systems.

  • Support overtime required for integration tasks or test campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cryogenic systems, operation, safety and hardware.

  • Prior experience fabricating, maintaining, testing, operating or inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluids systems.

  • Experience with CAD systems for review and interpretation of 3-D models.

Background and Compliance

Base Pay Range for WA applicants is $29.91 - $41.87. Other site ranges may differ.
