Job summary

CGS is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to join our Information Technology team, supporting a wide-range federal initiative. You will lead UX design across multiple sites, conduct user research, and collaborate with federal engineers and clients to deliver usable, accessible web and mobile interfaces.

The role requires creating wireframes, storyboards, and design systems, while mentoring junior designers and delivering high-quality, research-driven outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.
• Strong UX design experience.
• 10+ years combined professional design experience (UCD, UI/UX design).
• Strong online portfolio demonstrating research-driven decisions for responsive web and mobile apps.
• Experience with user research methodologies and user-centered design.
• Advanced understanding of personas, user flows, affinity mapping, and research tools.
• Familiarity with 508 and USWDS standards in design.
• Experience carrying designs from wireframes to final UI.
• Ability to prioritize features per user goals and business needs.
• Experience mentoring junior designers and leading teams.
• Strong coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, and JS).
• Proficiency in Adobe XD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-scale UX design efforts including research, blueprinting, and evaluating existing systems.
• Plan, design, and implement multiple sites across clients in fast-paced environments.
• Lead user research to inform usable web pages and interfaces.
• Collaborate with federal engineers and clients to create innovative solutions for stakeholders.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to communicate interaction ideas.
• Develop scalable design resources to support collaboration and service expansion.
