Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking a Utility-Scale Power & Renewables Project Manager to own commercial, contractual, financial, and administrative success of assigned projects from turnover through closeout. You will partner with Field Operations to anticipate risks, protect profitability, and build lasting customer relationships on sites nationwide.

This on-site role requires strong leadership in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management, with up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Experience managing heavy civil, solar, BESS, substation, transmission, or underground infrastructure construction projects in the utility-scale market.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned projects from turnover through closeout, partnering with Field Operations.
• Own budgets, forecasts, and cost controls; review variances and cost-to-complete.
• Lead mobilization and preconstruction planning for scope, schedule, and approvals.
• Coordinate master schedule, two-week lookahead, and milestone tracking with field leadership.
• Manage change orders, notices, and risk discussions with customers and subs.
• Provide weekly project financial and schedule reporting to stakeholders.
• Closeout, lessons-learned, and continuous improvement of delivery processes.
• Align on staffing, equipment, and critical milestones with Field Operations.
