RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Development Director for Utility-Scale Development in the Central Region. This senior, IC role leads the end-to-end development of solar, wind, and storage projects in the US and Canada, from greenfielding through construction readiness, with no direct reports but broad cross-functional influence.

You will drive strategy, budgets, and schedules, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and guide project economics and risk management to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business/economics, environmental science, planning, public policy or related field.
• Minimum of 11 years of relevant work experience, including at least 4 years in utility-scale wind, solar, or battery storage development in the US.
• Demonstrated success independently leading complex, capital-intensive energy or infrastructure projects through multiple development stages.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing external consultants, advisors, contractors, or strategic partners.
• Expert knowledge of utility-scale project development, including land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, engineering, preconstruction, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects from greenfielding through start of construction, with accountability for schedule, budget, risk, and project value.
• Serve as project lead for complex or high-priority projects, directing large cross-functional teams of internal experts and external consultants without direct people-management authority.
• Lead due diligence for project acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other transactions with M&A teams.
• Prepare executive-level presentations and investment recommendations for internal review and approval.
