Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Development Manager in Austin to lead the end-to-end development of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects in the US and Canada. You will manage cross-functional teams and coordinate with commercial and technical groups to drive project opportunities.

The role requires 5+ years in renewable energy development, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills; travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM, business/economics, or relevant fields. Advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience, 3 applicable to renewable energy infrastructure.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop utility-scale Solar, Wind and Energy Storage projects from greenfield to COD.
• Serve as project lead, managing large cross-functional teams.
• Understand key drivers for project financial attractiveness; identify best locations with commercial/technical teams.
• Lead greenfield campaigns to add new projects to the pipeline.
• Manage full project lifecycle: site due diligence, land, permitting, interconnection, engineering, yield, tax abatements, tax equity financing.
• Drive project competitiveness via technical, commercial and financial levers.
• Lead due diligence of acquisitions with M&A team.
• Prepare management presentations and drive internal approvals.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables for development projects.
• Participate in internal improvement initiatives.
