Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Director, Business Development (West) to lead utility-scale development initiatives in the US. You will drive market intelligence, portfolio management, pricing strategy, and M&A support for wind, solar and storage projects, reporting to the regional VP of Development.

The role requires a STEM or business degree, 11 years in renewables, and at least 3 years of leadership. Hybrid in-office positions across key US markets are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, business/economics, or relevant fields.
• 11 years of work experience applicable to renewable energy infrastructure.
• Minimum of 3 years leading a team.
• Strong knowledge in energy markets, prospecting, project development, engineering, or construction.
• Proven analytic & strategic mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage customer relationships.
• Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
• Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional portfolio management analysis to assess pipeline strength relative to regional targets.
• Drive regional implementation of mid to long-term strategic targets through organic and inorganic growth.
• Provide strategic regional analysis of customers, markets and competitors.
• Serve as strategic lead for complex initiatives including M&A and new market entry.
• Forecast regional financial and non-financial obligations and related approvals.
• Spearhead quarterly development planning and define OKRs in line with regional strategy.
• Lead regional budgeting and forecasting and communicate risks.
• Represent the business development function in executive forums with insights.
• Prepare approval / board documentation for project approvals.
