Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC seeks a Senior Utility-scale Development Manager to initiate, develop, and acquire solar, wind and energy storage projects in the US. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets and timelines, and drive regional strategies to expand the pipeline.

The role requires an engineering/business background, 7+ years in renewables, and the ability to travel up to 50%. This is a full-time, office-based position with opportunities to mentor others and shape market entry plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Science, or relevant fields.
• PMP® or PgMP® certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in renewable energy infrastructure in the US.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting utility-scale development.
• Exceptional project management skills.
• Expert knowledge of regional markets, permitting frameworks, and commercial structuring.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop a portfolio of utility-scale Solar, Wind and Energy Storage projects, from green-fielding to start of construction.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate financing prep and data room activities.
• Manage full project lifecycle including site due diligence, land control, environmental and permitting, interconnection, engineering & pre-construction, energy yield, tax abatements, power marketing, and tax equity financing.
• Oversee cost estimating and EPC bidding to firm up CAPEX in collaboration with Preconstruction and Procurement teams.
• Optimize engineering design and provide support during construction to ensure successful COD.
• Mentor junior Development Managers / Associates across projects and markets.
• Drive project competitiveness via technical, commercial and financial levers, and identify best locations with internal teams.
• Lead due diligence of acquisitions with the M&A team and prepare management presentations.
• Drive internal approvals and manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
