Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee critical utility infrastructure upgrade projects in Upington, Northern Cape. This site-based role requires hands-on management of planning, design, execution, commissioning and handover, with strong focus on safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

You will develop detailed plans, manage budgets over R4 million, coordinate with engineering teams, contractors and regulators, and report progress to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 7+ years of PM experience in utility infrastructure.
• Experience managing budgets of R4 million or more.
• Proficient in MS Project and Primavera P6.
• Site-based leadership in Upington or similar environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of utility infrastructure upgrade projects from planning to handover.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, field crews, contractors, and regulators.
• Oversee on-site construction ensuring safety, environmental standards, and quality.
• Manage project finances, including budget tracking and invoice verification.
• Identify and mitigate risks to minimize service disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, permits and regulations.
• Conduct site inspections and progress meetings; report to senior management.
• Manage vendor relationships and contractual obligations.
• Facilitate clear communication among all stakeholders.
