Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects in the Upington region. The role involves planning, design through to execution, with remote work and periodic site visits.

The ideal candidate has a proven utilities project track record, strong leadership and stakeholder management, and a background in civil/electrical/mechanical engineering. Travel to project sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Project Manager in utilities infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of lifecycle, construction methods, and materials.
• Experience managing projects with significant budgets (R5 million+).
• Experience working remotely and coordinating complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, execution, and closing of utility infrastructure projects.
• Develop project plans with scope, budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Oversee engineering design, procurement, and construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor progress, KPIs, and financial performance.
• Communicate status to stakeholders and ensure timely handover.
