Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced Unified Communications Engineer to administer and optimize the organization’s enterprise communications environment. You will ensure availability, performance, and security of voice, collaboration, and contact center technologies supporting patient care and operations.

Under the Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you will collaborate across IT and clinical teams, manage telephony infrastructure, and participate in projects upgrading systems and services while

Qualifications

• Education as specified above; degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in enterprise communications environments preferred.
• Focus on voice platforms, SIP, Teams Phone, and cloud/on-premises setups.
• Documentation creation and maintenance of configurations and procedures.
• Healthcare environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize unified communications, telephony, voicemail, call routing, and collaboration services.
• Support enterprise telephony infrastructure, SIP, SBCs, analog gateways, and emergency calling.
• Configure auto attendants, call queues, hunt groups, and contact center workflows.
• Lead troubleshooting for complex voice/communications issues across clinical and business ops.
• Coordinate telecom service requests and changes with minimal disruption.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and new service implementations.
• Collaborate to ensure integration with networking, identity, cloud services, and cybersecurity controls.
• Coordinate with providers and vendors to resolve incidents and implement new capabilities.
• Develop and maintain technical docs, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Join 24/7 on-call rotation as assigned and stay current with UC tech and HIPAA concerns.

Education

Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related technical field

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field
