As a remote role open to any location in the continental US, you will identify workflow improvements, manage deadlines, train teammates, and ensure high-quality risk assessment across the book of business.

Qualifications

• College graduate or business equivalent.
• 7+ years underwriting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting function and John Hancock's businesses.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize under deadlines.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and illustrations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and provide solutions to workflow and systems issues.
• Negotiate and manage time and resources to meet deadlines.
• Provide training and act as an information resource for junior underwriters.
• Audit underwriting decisions and processing for guideline adherence.
• Review medical record summaries for documentation compliance.
• Support management with risk assessment research projects.
• Process underwriting appeals and complaints.
• Review fraud referrals and conduct book of business reviews.
• Assist management with staff training.
