Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking a production underwriter for our Small Business National Territory. This role manages new business, markets and underwrites within established criteria, and acts as a liaison between agents and the company to drive profitable growth in both volume and policy count.

You will travel to meet with agency partners, assess agent strengths, ensure adherence to initiatives, and maintain open communication across regions and departments.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred with 6+ years of underwriting, marketing, or field underwriting experience; 3 years Agency Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with agents to write new profitable business and achieve agency goals.
• May market and underwrite small business and large accounts according to underwriting criteria.
• Makes consistent underwriting decisions and adheres to pricing philosophies.
• Provides excellent communication and service via digital technology.
• Monitors agency results and follows up on opportunities and compliance with initiatives.
• Develops professional working relationships with agents and internal teams.
• Maintains open two-way communication and encourages agent use of Selective systems.
