AXA XL, a leading P&C and specialty risk insurer in the U.S., is seeking a Senior Underwriter in Chicago to handle the most complex new and renewal business within its unit. You’ll work closely with brokers to tailor policies, exercise independent risk judgment, and help drive profitable outcomes aligned with the financial plan.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of US PE insurance products, extensive Middle Market experience, and a proven ability to build insured and broker relationships

Qualifications

• Must possess deep knowledge of US PE insurance products and broker relationships.
• Extensive Middle Market underwriting, claims, or business development experience.
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate AXA XL through offerings and approach.
• Excellent written and oral communication with a strong customer-service focus.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite the unit’s most complex new and renewal business to drive profitable premium and rate goals.
• Collaborate with brokers and agents to tailor policies to client needs.
• Exercise discretionary judgment in risk analysis and evaluation.
• Participate in risk assessment discussions and negotiate with producers within authority.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to expand distribution.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and ensure compliance with guidelines.
