AXA XL Senior Underwriter – Facultative Automatic Facilities (US) is responsible for underwriting automatic facility accounts, pricing terms, and maintaining profitability for New and Renewal business. The role collaborates with brokers and internal partners to position AXA XL in the market, while upholding guidelines and audit standards across underwriting, actuarial, legal, and claims teams.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in the reinsurance industry, especially in Programs, Facultative Facilities, Commercial Property Treaty or Automatic Facility Reinsurance, including policy wording, actuarial pricing models, and catastrophe modeling.
• Proficient in policy & contract wording and rating systems.
• Detail‑oriented, accurate, with strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong math aptitude.
• Excellent PC skills.
• Background in Property and Inland Marine underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and produce automatic facility accounts achieving individual and division profitability and premium line targets.
• Underwrite terms and conditions and establish pricing for new and renewal automatic facility business by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing account information.
• Contribute to consistent satisfactory internal/external audit results by adhering to underwriting guidelines, regulatory and rating guidelines.
• Manage internal AXA XL relationships and effectively communicate with underwriting, actuarial, legal, underwriting service department and claims staff to ensure proper handling of accounts.
• Maintain and service a book of business by analyzing endorsement requests and special acceptances to provide customer service to customers and brokers.
• Participate in the strategic planning and implementation of business development activities, including identification of key opportunities and execution of action plans.
