Job summary

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is seeking a Facility Underwriter for Automatic Property Facultative Reinsurance in the USA. The role focuses on underwriting, pricing, and relationship management for property and inland marine reinsurance, while contributing to audits, marketing, and strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience in Property and Inland Marine lines.
• Commercial property insurance experience preferred.
• Reinsurance experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of underwriting structures, rating methodologies, and policy rating systems.
• Familiarity with insurance policy language and contract wording.
• Mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business systems.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills with multitasking.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work independently with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite automatic property and inland marine agreements and renewals.
• Maintain client/broker contacts and relationships.
• Contribute to hybrid facultative audit process as appropriate.
• Manage T&E expenditures in coordination with Division Manager.
• Develop annual personal P&D plan with leadership.
• Contribute to training and onboarding for new hires.
• Establish pricing for new and renewal accounts.
• Achieve satisfactory internal/external audit results by following guidelines.
• Communicate with underwriting, actuarial, legal, and claims staff to ensure profitability.
• Maintain and service a book of business by analyzing special acceptance requests.
• Participate in business development initiatives, including broker visits and marketing activities when needed.
• Collaborate in a high-performance team and contribute to efficiency improvements.
