Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Underwriting professional for Meritain Health, an independent subsidiary of CVS. This fully remote role focuses on pricing, stop loss, and RFP responses for a diversified book of business including Mid-Market and Captive/Alternate channels.

You will prepare quotations, model financials in Excel/Salesforce, and collaborate with Sales and Client Management to drive value and cost containment. A strong background in medical insurance and analytics is expected.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of medical insurance experience: brokers, carriers, TPAs, underwriting, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Adept at collaboration and teamwork.
• Adept at growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and consultation to Sales and Client Management on pricing and stop loss strategies.
• Prepares and issues quotations and other financial deliverables for prospective and existing business.
• Prepares financial projections on prospects using financial models in Excel and Salesforce.
• Marketing and placement of stop loss policies; negotiate terms based on claims data and cost avoidance efforts.
• Collaborates with leadership to understand impacts for custom requests.
• Manages and interprets operational data and applies to fee development and financial analysis.
• Presents to internal/external customers and partners.
• Displays understanding of Meritain products and services with strong business and systems knowledge.
• Develops presentations for existing and prospective customers and partners.
• Determines product mix with Sales to reduce total cost of care.
