Job summary

Westwood Professional Services seeks a Senior Underground Transmission Engineer to lead the design of underground projects from 34.5kV to 500kV in Westminster, CO. You will head multi-disciplinary teams, manage schedules, and mentor staff while interfacing with planning, permitting, environmental, and construction management.

Requirements include a BS in Electrical/Civil ABET-accredited program and 5+ years in underground transmission or related fields; PE licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in underground transmission, underground distribution, cable systems, power delivery, or underground utility design.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage resources and schedules.
• Experience with transmission systems rated 69kV+ and with relevant design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical staff in utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing documentation.
• Oversee multiple projects from 34.5kV to 500kV, ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
• Develop project schedules and define staffing needs for projects and daily work.
• Mentor staff on engineering principles, codes, and transmission design practices.
• Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional initiatives and client engagement.
