Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to design underground transmission lines up to 500kV and lead a small project team. The role involves calculating ampacities, developing duct banks, and producing installation specifications for complex transmission projects.

The position supports a hybrid work model with three days in the office and two remote days, and offers a generous relocation package dependent on location. A BS from an ABET-accredited program is required.

Qualificações

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 7+ years on underground transmission projects.
• Knowledge of design codes (NESC, EPRI Green Book, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).
• Experience with cost estimate development and scheduling.
• Experience with XLPE cable design.

Responsabilidades

• Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV.
• Responsible for cost analyses, development of design criteria, siting and routing challenges, and placement of manholes for underground transmission lines.
• Responsible for physical design including duct bank layouts, development of trenchless designs, cable pulling calculations, development of drawing packages.
• Responsible for cable selection studies, determining bonding scheme, performing ampacity calculations.
• Develop riser structure configuration and structural loading.
• Develop specifications including cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation and general construction specifications.
• Work and coordinate with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
• Direct a small project team of other engineers, designers and drafters.
