Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to design underground transmission lines up to 500 kV. The role includes duct bank layouts, manhole placement, ampacity calculations, and wiring specifications within a collaborative team.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, plus a generous relocation package depending on location.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS degree in engineering is required.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling.
• Proficiency with cable tensioning calculations and/or software.
• 7+ years on underground transmission projects in a project team.
• Design experience with codes and standards (NESC, EPRI, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7).
• Experience with cost estimates and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Design underground transmission lines up to 500kV.
• Develop duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, and manhole placements.
• Perform ampacity calculations and bonding scheme determinations.
• Coordinate with vendors/clients and lead a small project team.
• Prepare specifications for installation and procurement of transmission line materials.
