Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Sr. UI/IX Engineer to lead the design and engineering of modern, intuitive, and responsive user interfaces for mission-critical applications on the Chinook program.

You will translate complex requirements into effective UI/IX solutions, collaborating with product owners, UX/UI designers, software and systems engineers. The role emphasizes reusable components, design standards, and strong usability, in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Requires US citizenship per contract.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE with 8–12 years of relevant experience or Master's with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to pass a Polygraph examination.
• Strong experience building modern web UIs and UX.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with React, Angular, Vue.js, or Django.
• Familiarity with responsive design, component-based development, and modern front-end engineering.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of modern, intuitive UI for mission-critical apps.
• Translate user needs and workflows into effective UI/IX solutions.
• Collaborate across product owners, UX/UI designers, software and systems engineers.
• Develop reusable UI components and design standards for consistency.
• Apply user-centered design to simplify complex workflows and improve usability.
• Build prototypes to validate concepts with stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure efficient, secure implementations.
• Evaluate interfaces to improve usability, accessibility, and performance.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and program planning.
• Mentor engineers and drive UI/IX best practices across the program.
