Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Sr. UI/IX Engineer to shape mission-critical interfaces on the Chinook Program. You will translate complex requirements into intuitive, responsive UI/IX solutions and work with designers, product owners, and engineers in an Agile setting across multiple U.S.

locations. This role requires TS/SCI clearance, strong front-end skills (HTML/CSS/JS, React/Angular/Vue), and experience with modern front-end tooling and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 8–12 years of experience or Master’s with 6–10 years of experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI with the ability to pass a Polygraph.
• Experience building modern web-based UIs and UX.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with React, Angular, Vue.js, or Django.
• Strong knowledge of responsive design and modern front-end practices.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum/SAFe environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and Jira/Confluence.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Understanding of secure coding practices (RMF, STIGs).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of modern, intuitive UIs for mission-critical apps.
• Translate requirements into UI/IX solutions for stakeholders.
• Collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams.
• Develop reusable UI components and design standards.
• Apply user-centered design to simplify complex workflows.
• Build interactive prototypes to validate concepts with stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering to ensure performant implementations.
• Evaluate interfaces for usability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and SAFe practices.
• Mentor engineers and promote UI/IX best practices.
• Support continuous improvement of UI capabilities.
