Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Senior UI/IX Engineer to join the Chinook Program, supporting an Intelligence Community customer. You will design and engineer modern, intuitive, and responsive user interfaces for mission-critical systems, collaborating with designers, engineers, and mission stakeholders in an Agile setting.

Primary locations include Gaithersburg, MD; Alexandria, VA; Chantilly, VA; Englewood, CO; St. Louis, MO; Tucson, AZ. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Strong experience building modern web UIs and UX.
• Proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python.
• Familiar with React/Angular/Vue.js or Django.
• Experience in responsive, component-based front-end development.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Familiarity with cloud like AWS GovCloud and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding secure coding practices and government system accreditation (RMF, STIGs).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of modern, intuitive UIs for mission-critical apps.
• Translate requirements into effective UI/IX solutions.
• Collaborate across product, UX/UI, software, and mission stakeholders.
• Develop reusable UI components and design standards.
• Apply user-centered design to simplify complex workflows.
• Build prototypes to validate concepts with stakeholders.
• Ensure designs are implemented with performance considerations.
• Evaluate interfaces to improve usability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and SAFe/PI planning.
• Mentor engineers and drive UI/IX best practices.
• Support testing to validate UI functionality and user workflows.
