Job summary

Leidos seeks a Sr. UI/IX Engineer to design and deliver modern, mission-focused user interfaces for a complex intelligence program.

You will collaborate across product, UX/UI design, software and systems engineers, translating requirements into intuitive, responsive experiences in an Agile environment. This role requires TS/SCI clearance, strong front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript), and experience with React/Angular/Vue or Django.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor's degree and 8–12 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 6–10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a Polygraph.
• Strong professional experience developing modern web-based user interfaces and user experiences.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or Django.
• Understanding of responsive design, component-based development, and modern front-end practices.
• Experience translating complex requirements into intuitive interface solutions.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and agile tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Familiarity with AWS (GovCloud) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of secure coding practices and government accreditation processes (RMF, STIGs).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of modern, intuitive, and responsive user interfaces for mission-critical applications.
• Translate user needs, mission workflows, and functional requirements into effective UI/IX solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, software engineers, systems engineers, and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop reusable UI components, patterns, and design standards for consistency and maintainability.
• Apply user-centered design to simplify complex workflows and improve usability.
• Build and refine interactive prototypes and proof-of-concept interfaces for stakeholder validation.
• Partner with software teams to ensure designs are implemented with performance considerations.
• Evaluate interfaces to improve usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and UX.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, PI Planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to UI/IX engineering best practices and patterns.
• Collaborate with test engineers to validate UI functionality and user workflows.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to less-experienced engineers.
• Help drive continuous improvement of UI/IX capabilities and processes.
