Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a UX Designer to apply standard UX principles to develop new or improved software products. The role involves strong visual design, branding, and a design language system in Figma.

You will conduct user research, build UI prototypes, and document UX designs, working with cross-functional teams to improve products and processes. Travel to Baxter sites and some customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Human Factors or related field or equivalent.
• 3+ years of related work experience.
• Ability to travel to Baxter and/or customer sites and meet hospital credentialing requirements.
• Solid understanding of UX design principles.
• Experience using UI design and prototyping tools, especially advanced Figma skills including components, variables, auto-layout and themes.
• Passion for improving user experiences and advocating UX standards.
• Ability to explain and document UI designs and decisions, verbally and in writing.
• Experience with medical device or other regulated fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create user friendly interface designs adhering to Baxter design patterns and guidelines.
• Participate in customer interviews and user research to identify needs.
• Create UI prototypes for testing or marketing.
• Conduct usability research: test plans/scripts, moderation, final reports.
• Document UX designs and specifications.
• Provide UX input to cross-functional teams for product/process improvements.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and use engineering methodologies to communicate across teams.
