Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead transportation initiatives across the Gulf Region, including AL, MS, and TN. You will guide roadway design, traffic engineering, and planning efforts for state DOTs and local agencies.

You will serve as the main client contact, manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing, and oversee project financial performance. Strong leadership and communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in roadway design, traffic engineering, and/or transportation planning.
• Experience with state DOTs, meeting DOT standards, schedules, and budgets.
• Knowledge of DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications; traffic planning principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of transportation projects for state DOTs and local municipalities, including roadway design and traffic analysis.
• Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining relationships with DOTs, municipalities, and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans for project delivery.
• Prepare and track project documentation, contracts, change orders, and approvals.
• Oversee project financials, including forecasting, invoicing, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and presentations for clients and regulators.
• Support submittals, bidding activities, and QA/QC processes.
