Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to lead and deliver transportation design projects in the Gulf region, including Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

You will coordinate schedule, budgets, and client communications, supervise designers, and ensure quality standards while pursuing business development opportunities with public and private sector clients. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, 5+ years of transportation

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with progressive responsibility.
• Alabama PE license.
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, ArcGIS, Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, or HCS.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage project schedules and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and plan review for Volkert clients in Alabama.
• Organize activities, schedules, and reports for transportation projects.
• Lead or assist in developing project designs and direct designers.
• Provide technical design and guidance on roadway design, signaling, and planning.
• Prepare engineering studies, documents, and reports.
• Prepare, issue, and track contracts and change orders.
• Manage project budgets to meet financial metrics.
• Attend project meetings and engage with clients and the public.
