Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Engineer for a hybrid role based in Quincy or Woburn, MA. You will supervise complex transportation projects, ensure alignment with scope, budget, and schedule, and coordinate with multiple design disciplines.

Ideal candidates have a PE or are pursuing licensure, 5+ years of roadway design experience, and strong writing skills. AutoCAD Civil3D expertise is required, with MassDOT workflow knowledge as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• PE license or licensure within one year or eligibility by reciprocity.
• 5+ years of roadway design experience.
• Strong writing skills for memoranda, reports, and proposals.
• AutoCAD experience is required; knowledge of MassDOT plan sets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Lead for the transportation components of complex projects.
• Coordinate technical work among design disciplines and subconsultants.
• Lead development of 3D roadway design models using AutoCAD Civil3D per MassDOT standards.
• Oversee plan sets, special provisions, and cost estimates for roadway projects.
• Assist Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution; monitor schedules and budgets.
• Mentor junior staff and manage workload, reviews, and career development.
