Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to help plan, design, and deliver transportation projects across multiple delivery methods. You will work with experienced engineers and PMs, using OpenRoads Designer to create roadway design plans and prepare technical reports.

The role offers hybrid work with a preferred base in Fairfax, VA, and potential travel as needed. A PE license in VA or readiness to obtain it within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Eight (8)+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure design.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway design and modeling.
• Strong collaboration skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with multiple state DOTs considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical design on transportation projects (highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors).
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to develop design solutions.
• Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Develop and review plans, specs, estimates, and reports using ORD.
