Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead transportation design efforts across highways, interchanges, tollways, and transit corridors. You will use OpenRoads Designer (ORD) to develop plans and support proposals with clients and stakeholders.

Applicants should have a civil engineering degree and 8+ years of transportation design experience, plus a VA PE license or the ability to obtain it within 6 months. Hybrid work from Fairfax, VA is preferred with some travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Eight or more years of experience in transportation infrastructure design.
• Active VA PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• ORD experience for roadway design and modeling.
• Familiarity with DOT standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical design on transportation projects (highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors).
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to develop cost-effective design solutions.
• Serve as a technical liaison with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design reports using ORD.
• Participate in proposal development, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project career development.
