Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead transportation design and delivery across diverse delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and P3. You will prepare roadway designs using OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and contribute to technical reports, modeling, and plan production.

Hybrid work is preferred in Fairfax, VA with fully remote consideration; travel may be required. PE license in VA or soon-to-be results is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
8+ years of transportation infrastructure design experience.
VA PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
ORD proficiency for roadway design and modeling.

Responsibilities

Lead or support technical design on transportation projects (highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices to develop design solutions.
Serve as a technical liaison among internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Develop and review plans, specs, estimates, and design reports using ORD.
Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
Ensure quality control and compliance with standards and client requirements.
