Job summary

HDR is a global engineering and professional services firm seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead large, complex infrastructure programs in the Transportation group. The role sits within HDR’s Transportation Leadership team, driving delivery excellence and client advisory across multiple disciplines.

Ideal candidates bring at least 10 years in program management with demonstrable experience on multi-program, high-value initiatives, and prefer DBIA/PMI credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning or related field.
• Professional licenses/certifications: PE/P.Eng, PMP, PgMP, AICP, CCM.
• Minimum 10 years program management; 4+ years as Senior PM on large programs.
• Experience leading teams on programs >=$500M; multi-site delivery.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects.
• Plan, direct, and monitor program execution across multiple disciplines.
• Identify issues and risks; provide problem-solving and risk mitigation.
• Develop and implement program management plans and governance structures.
• Direct services by large program teams and ensure client satisfaction.
• Promote team alignment and effective communications; ensure contract compliance.
• Monitor financial performance and adjust to meet earnings targets.
