Job summary

Fehr & Peers is seeking an experienced transportation planning or engineering consultant with approximately 8–12 years of experience to grow our Central Florida presence from the Orlando office. The role blends technical delivery with business development, client relationship building, and project leadership to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

The position follows a hybrid schedule, with at least three days per week in our downtown Orlando office.

Qualifications

• Approximately 8–12 years of transportation planning or engineering consulting experience.
• Demonstrated success leading complex transportation projects from proposal through delivery.
• Experience developing client relationships and contributing to practice growth through business development and repeat work.
• Established relationships and experience working with Florida State and local agencies, institutional clients, developers, and private-sector organizations, with strong knowledge of the Central Florida transportation market.
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing staff.
• Professional registration (PE or AICP, as appropriate) or the ability to obtain it if applicable.
• Openness to exploring and responsibly using new technologies and tools, while maintaining critical thinking and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation planning and engineering projects from pursuit through successful delivery, serving as the primary point of contact for clients and project teams.
• Manage and deliver transportation planning and/or engineering projects in corridor studies, traffic operations analyses, and related areas including PS&E for transportation projects.
• Manage direct client interaction and communication with the public through community engagement.
• Build and strengthen relationships with public agencies, private-sector clients, developers, and other partners to grow the practice in Central Florida.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to client strategy, proposals, interviews, and long-term relationship development.
• Collaborate with office and regional leadership to grow Fehr & Peers' presence and reputation in the local market.
• Mentor and develop staff while fostering collaborative, high-performing project teams.
• Contribute to the long-term success of the Orlando office through leadership and practice growth.
