Fehr & Peers in Tacoma seeks an experienced transportation planning or engineering consultant with 8–12 years of experience to help grow our South Sound presence and lead project delivery from pursuit through completion in a hybrid Tacoma office.

The role emphasizes balancing project work with business development, building relationships with public agencies and private clients, mentoring staff, and contributing to practice growth in the Washington market.

Qualifications

• Approximately 8–12 years of transportation planning or engineering consulting experience.
• Demonstrated success leading complex transportation projects from proposal through delivery.
• Experience developing client relationships and contributing to practice growth through business development and repeat work.
• Established relationships with Washington State and local agencies, institutions, developers and private-sector organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation planning and engineering projects from pursuit through delivery, serving as the primary point of contact for clients and project teams.
• Manage and deliver a variety of transportation projects (corridor studies, TIA, multimodal plans, active transportation, campus planning, environmental review, traffic operations analyses).
• Build relationships with public agencies, private clients, developers and partners in the region.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to client strategy and proposals.
• Mentor and develop staff while fostering high-performing project teams.
