Job summary

Qualifications

• 2 years of transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, or related work experience. Substitutions may be allowed for formal education or training.
• Must have valid driver’s license and safety certifications as specified, including CDL? (see job posting).

Responsibilities

• Verifies and processes maintenance contract inspection data to build work orders and request payment funding.
• Serves as the only maintenance contract inspector on a small project.
• Assists with traffic control; places and gathers cones, warning signs and barricades; flags traffic.
• Conducts tests of highway construction materials and records results.
• Maintains construction project and bridge inspection records; processes related paperwork.
• Inspects barricades for compliance with standards.
• Operates light and heavy equipment at job sites.
• Responds to emergencies and assists the public as needed.
