Atlas Technical Consultants is seeking a senior Construction Inspector in Texas to independently lead field inspections, liaise with TxDOT and municipal clients, and mentor junior inspectors. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 10+ years as a construction inspector on TxDOT projects.
• Knowledge of TxDOT standards and Tex-series tests.
• Ability to read civil/structural plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reporting to stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% and obtain missing certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, field logs, and photographic documentation for owner and internal records.
• Communicate inspection findings, nonconformances, and schedule-impacting issues to contractors, project managers, and TxDOT/municipal representatives.
• Identify, document, and track violations or deficiencies through resolution, ensuring work meets safety standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of TxDOT specs and certifications; perform special inspections as required.
• Serve as lead inspector on multi-inspector crews; provide guidance and review junior inspectors' work.
• Conduct inspections on TxDOT and municipal sites to verify compliance with plans and specifications, including SWPPP/traffic control, paving, drainage, earthwork, and structural work.
