Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector to supervise and review complex public works projects, including utilities, storm drainage, concrete and asphalt, to ensure conformance with plans and contracts.

The role requires 3 years of construction inspection experience, a valid driver's license, and a Texas Class C Water Distribution certification. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, with duties spanning coordination with contractors and oversight of

Qualifications

HS diploma/GED with college coursework in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or related field.
Three years of Construction Inspection experience involving public works systems.
Valid driver’s license.
Class C Water Distribution certification from Texas.

Responsibilities

Leads staff, prioritizes and assigns work; ensures staff is trained in inspection methods and use of equipment.
Reviews proposed change orders for scope, pricing; negotiates and finalizes change orders.
Schedules and attends pre-construction meetings and final inspections.
Conducts Site Inspections on complex projects and operates a City vehicle.
Ensures compliance with building and construction standards, codes, ordinances and regulations.
