Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Dallas District is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Tech IV based in Cedar Hill, TX. The role performs routine to complex maintenance inspections, bridge inspections, and equipment operation while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
The position offers CDL training with $0 upfront cost, full salary during training, lodging and per-diem provided as needed. Salary range is $48,244–$76,028 annually.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, or related work experience.
- Substitutions for minimum qualifications may be allowed with technical training or education.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a state vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Inspect complex maintenance and construction-related work to ensure compliance with safety and contract specs.
- Operate heavy and light highway equipment as required.
- Maintain project records, plans, and inspection reports.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and public information offices on traffic control.
- Train other employees and lead maintenance construction inspection activities.
- Perform pavement evaluations and monitor progress of projects.
