Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineering Manager to lead major Illinois transportation projects from our Chicago Loop or Lisle offices.

You will supervise design teams, coordinate disciplines, and deliver construction-ready plans for tollways and urban corridors. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of transportation engineering, IL PE or reciprocity within six months, and strong leadership and OpenRoads design skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• Typically 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
• IL Professional Engineer license or reciprocity within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead major Illinois transportation projects and provide technical direction.
• Coordinate disciplines, manage design activities, and review deliverables.
• Coach staff through feedback, mentoring, and performance reviews.
• Forecast staffing needs based on backlog and pursuits.
• Develop roadway designs for interstate, tollway, and urban projects.
• Direct construction plan development and contract document creation.
• Author reports and provisions; guide OpenRoads design teams.
• Review complex calculations and client proposals; travel as needed.
