Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Transportation Engineer for its downtown Chicago Loop or Lisle offices.

Join a dynamic roadway team delivering major Illinois projects, including Tollway and IDOT initiatives, with mentorship of junior staff and ongoing professional growth. You will design roadways using OpenRoads Designer, contribute to complex interchange work, and participate in site visits, client meetings, and occasional travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on roadway design or transportation engineering.
• Illinois DOT/Tollway planning, design, plan production, and PS&E experience.

Responsibilities

• Become an immediate contributor on major Hanson projects in Illinois, such as Tollway I-355/I-88 master planning and IDOT I-80 project.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and support their technical development.
• Develop roadway design solutions for major interstate/tollway improvements, urban thoroughfare reconstructions, and rural highway projects.
• Work with OpenRoads Designer software and participate in training and staff user groups.
• Visit project sites to review conditions and develop alternatives; support public involvement as needed; travel for client meetings and site visits.
