Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. in Chicago seeks a Transportation Engineer for roadways to contribute to major Illinois projects and mentor junior staff.

You will work with OpenRoads Designer and support Tollway/IDOT programs, traveling to site visits as needed. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, 5+ years of engineering experience with at least 2 years in roadway design, and a PE license or ability to reciprocate within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on roadway design or transportation engineering.
• Illinois DOT/Tollway planning, design, plan production, and PS&E experience.
• Illinois P.E. or reciprocal license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Contribute on major Hanson projects in Illinois.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and support their technical development.
• Develop roadway design solutions for interstate/tollway improvements, urban thoroughfares, and rural reconstructions.
• Visit project sites to review conditions and develop alternative solutions.
• Provide occasional support for public involvement activities.
• Occasional travel for client meetings and site visits.
