Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. in Chicago seeks a Transportation Engineer focused on roadways to contribute to major projects and mentor junior staff.

You will work on interstate and tollway improvements, urban reconstructions, and rural rehabilitation, applying OpenRoads Designer and 3D modeling to develop design solutions. Office in downtown Chicago Loop or Lisle, with opportunities for site visits, public involvement support, and occasional travel; a bachelor’s in civil engineering and 5+

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on roadway design or transportation engineering.
• Illinois P.E. or reciprocity within 6 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Become an immediate contributor on major Hanson projects in Illinois (e.g., I-355/I-88 Interchange master planning, IDOT I-80 Mississippi River Bridge projects).
• Mentor entry-level engineers and support technical development.
• Develop roadway design solutions for interstate/tollway, urban and rural projects.
• Visit project sites to review conditions and develop recommendations; support public involvement when needed.
• Occasional out-of-town travel for client meetings and site visits.
