Job summary

Iteris is seeking a Sr. Engineer to join a team dedicated to promoting thriving communities through transportation planning and engineering.

You will collaborate with senior management, engineering, and planning staff, as well as state, regional, and local agencies, to deliver transportation projects that improve our communities. The role involves leading long-range planning efforts, managing budgets and schedules, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with SB 743 through VMT

Qualifications

• Lead complex transportation projects from inception to completion.
• Track project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work using project management software to ensure profitability and timely delivery for public sector contracts.
• Direct and mentor junior staff by assigning tasks, reviewing technical work, and guiding their professional development.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead the preparation of long-range transportation plans, such as General Plan Circulation Elements, Active Transportation Plans (ATP), Complete Streets plans, and Vision Zero/systemic safety plans.
• Lead Senate Bill (SB) 743 compliance evaluations by managing Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) assessments, establishing thresholds, and
