Iteris, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead transportation planning projects in partnership with public agencies and Iteris staff in Los Angeles. You will manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results.

The role requires strong communication, presentation skills, and up-to-date knowledge of transportation planning trends. Professional licensure is preferred, with proficiency in major planning tools and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, civil engineering, urban and regional planning, transportation engineering or a related field.
• 6–8 years of consulting/public sector experience in transportation planning.
• Licensure/certifications: PE/TE, PTOE, PTP or AICP desired.
• Proficiency with TransCAD, Synchro, Sim Traffic, VISSIM, GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex transportation projects from inception to completion with high quality deliverables.
• Track budgets, schedules, and scopes to ensure profitability and timely delivery for public contracts.
• Mentor junior staff and guide professional development.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and lead long-range transportation planning efforts.
• Lead SB 743 compliance evaluations and VMT assessments.
• Manage CEQA/NEPA transportation components for major projects.
• Analyze multimodal data to develop data-driven recommendations.
• Serve as primary contact for public agency clients and present to councils/commissions.
• Support public outreach programs and identify impending RFPs.
• Prepare competitive proposals with defined scopes, staffing estimates and budgets.
