Job summary

Socket.dev in Illinois seeks a Lead Transportation Dispatch Coordinator to provide exceptional logistical support, coordinate trips, and lead a dispatch team. You will work closely with drivers, customers, and supervisors to ensure accurate, timely trip updates and escalation handling.

The role requires hands-on experience with transportation dispatch operations, leadership/mentoring, and familiarity with FileMaker.

Qualifications

Minimum of 90 days of Transportation Coordinator experience.
Ability to guide, coach, and mentor other team members.
Strong knowledge of transportation dispatch operations.
Working knowledge of FileMaker.
Detailed knowledge of NORA regions, bases, and coverage maps.
Excellent verbal and written communication, and multitasking under pressure.

Responsibilities

Assist the team supervisor with complex logistics, challenging trip coordination, and escalated issues.
Provide leadership and operational support in the absence of the assigned team supervisor as needed.
Collaborate with the shift supervisor to ensure trip accuracy, communicate updates to drivers and customers, and manage active trips in FileMaker.
Serve as liaison for NKR and commercial-related matters when commercial staff are unavailable.
Supports in the ongoing development, training and coaching of new hires and current dispatch team members.
Communicates regularly with the supervisor team and provides timely updates regarding operational needs, concerns and escalations.
Support role-specific customer requests in coordination with OPO’s
Oversee assigned dispatch regions and review associated records for accuracy and completeness
Perform other duties as assigned.
