Job summary

Nitsch Engineering seeks a Transportation Design Project Manager to lead transportation projects from our Massachusetts offices, including Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence. You will drive project delivery for local and state government clients as well as private clients, while mentoring staff and coordinating with subconsultants.

The role emphasizes leadership in design, project controls, and business development, with an employee-owned culture and annual bonus potential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Massachusetts Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within one year.
• 10+ years' experience in Transportation/Highway engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools.
• Proven client management and project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee all aspects of transportation engineering projects for local/state government and private clients.
• Staff and supervise the project team (including subconsultants), coordinating efforts and mentoring staff.
• Perform technical quality control reviews.
• Prepare and oversee milestone and final submissions.
• Manage design of roadways, streets, intersections, rail trails, shared-use paths, and transportation studies.
• Oversee preparation of construction documents, specs, estimates, and reports.
• Develop new business and represent Nitsch at conferences and professional organizations.
• Lead and advocate for the professional development of existing staff.
