Job summary

Nitsch Engineering is seeking a Senior Transportation Planning Project Manager to join our team at one of our Massachusetts offices: Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence. You will lead transportation planning projects for local and state government clients and help grow our transportation practice.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, AICP or MA PE, 15+ years of experience, and strong leadership to mentor staff and manage subconsultants.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• AICP certification or Massachusetts Professional Engineer license (or ability to obtain within 1 year).
• 15+ years of experience in Transportation Planning.
• Knowledge of project management roles and client management.
• Ability to staff projects and manage subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee transportation planning projects for local/state government clients.
• Lead business development to expand municipal client base and regional/state Transportation Planning work.
• Staff and supervise project team including subconsultants; mentor staff and coordinate efforts.
• Perform technical quality control reviews and oversight of submissions.
• Lead public involvement and community outreach efforts.
• Oversee preparation of transportation planning and engineering reports; manage bid documents.
