Job summary

Nitsch Engineering seeks a Transportation Design Project Manager to join our team in our Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence offices. The role leads transportation projects for public agencies and private clients, guiding design from concept through construction documents.

You will manage staffing, mentor staff, and coordinate with subconsultants, while ensuring technical quality and timely submissions. A PE license and 10+ years in the field are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• MA PE License or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 10+ years' experience in Transportation/Highway engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in project management and client management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee transportation engineering projects for local/state government clients and private clients.
• Staff and supervise the project team, coordinating subconsultants, mentoring staff, and making decisions in the best interest of the company and clients.
• Perform technical quality control reviews.
• Prepare and oversee milestone and final submissions.
• Design roadways, streets, intersections, rail trails, shared-use paths, and transportation studies.
• Oversee construction documents, specifications, estimates, and engineering reports.
• Develop new business and represent Nitsch at conferences and professional organizations.
• Lead and advocate for the professional development of existing staff.
