Job summary

Nitsch Engineering is seeking a Transportation Design Project Manager to join our team across our three Massachusetts offices: Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence. You will oversee transportation engineering projects, staff project teams, and ensure technical quality while cultivating client relationships.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, MA PE or eligibility within 1 year, 10+ years in transportation/highway engineering, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering; MA PE license within 1 year if currently licensed elsewhere.
• 10+ years' experience in Transportation/Highway engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to manage client relationships and staffing across current and future projects.
• Experience in preparing proposals, business development, and public presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee all aspects of transportation engineering projects for local and state government clients and private clients.
• Staff and supervise the project team, coordinating efforts, mentoring staff, and making decisions.
• Perform technical quality control reviews.
• Prepare and oversee milestone and final submissions.
• Manage design of roadways, streets, intersections, rail trails, shared-use paths, and transportation studies.
• Oversee preparation of construction documents, specifications, estimates, and reports.
• Develop new business and serve as the face of Nitsch for conferences and professional organizations.
• Lead and advocate for professional development of staff.
