Job summary

Nitsch Engineering is seeking a Senior Transportation Planning Project Manager to join our team at one of our Massachusetts offices: Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence. Lead large transportation planning projects for MassDOT and municipal clients, while growing our regional presence and mentoring staff.

Requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 15+ years in transportation planning, and licensure or certification (AICP or MA PE) within one year if needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• AICP certification or MA Professional Engineer license within one year if currently licensed elsewhere.
• 15+ years of experience in Transportation Planning.
• Experience in client management and leading project teams.
• Ability to staff current and future projects with appropriate personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee transportation planning projects for local and state government clients.
• Lead business development to expand municipal client base and regional/state work.
• Staff and supervise project teams, mentor staff and coordinate subconsultants.
• Perform technical quality control and oversee milestone and final submissions.
• Manage feasibility studies, safety plans, and corridor studies.
• Lead public involvement and community outreach.
